Interesting photo...This is a total non sequitur, but I was struck yesterday by reading David Foster Wallace's 2005 Kenyan College commencement address online yesterday. I'm not very knowledgeable about literature and I had never heard of David Foster Wallace, but I now know he was a renowned author who died by suicide in 2008. Anyway, I wonder whether you have read this speech, I found it to be quite powerful. As I type you are likely giving a eulogy at your mother's memorial service today. My thoughts and warm wishes are with you.
Thank you both, I'll have to look up that speech. Yes, he did indeed kill himself Colleen. I had trouble reading his novels, not my cup of tea. . . and the memorial service if over, so onwards I suppose. It did go well, my mother was remembered fondly, and yet we all spoke the truth when it came to her foibles. Touching, funny, exhausting.
